Col John Odey is the Commander, Air Force Network Integration Center, Scott AFB, IL. The Center, as a direct reporting unit to Air Force Space Command, is the Air Force’s focal point for shaping, provisioning, sustaining and integrating the Enterprise Network, as well as enabling assured core cyber capabilities to achieve warfighting advantage. The AFNIC leads the AF in information infrastructure optimization, enterprise management, and network improvement. AFNIC serves as Lead Command for 12 AF programs ensuring effective life cycle management, including requirements, planning, sustainment, and resourcing. AFNIC provides direct support to all AF bases as the lead for several common comm and info services. The Center further serves as the single AF Certifying Authority to systems requiring connection to the Global Information Grid, provides a simulated range environment for training and exercises to hone cyber skills, enables core capabilities through network standardization, and deploys C4 strike teams to assure and enhance network combat power.
